Type: Traditional Piecing, Stitch in the Ditch quilting with some hand quilting.
I have always wanted to do a quilt using just black, red and white. I saw a charm pack at Wal-mart so I figured what the heck why not. I created the quilt top pattern using Electronic Quilt and stitched away. The majority of the quilting is done using stitch in the ditch but I decided to dress it up a bit by doing hand quilting in the center diamonds. This would be my first try at hand stitching and I learned a lot - 1) be careful how you mark up your quilt, it may not come out later when you are done. 2) I prefer not to use a hoop when quilting, I can't seem to get the rocking motion down when there is tension on the fabric. Also as this was my first try at hand quilting the stitches are all over the place in terms of length and spacing. Getting much now, but I still have a way to go. Practice Practice Practice.
